Even though lacking behind on paper, Durdanto Dhaka has made a resounding start in the inaugural day of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Under new owners Dhaka playing in the BPL for the first time, the current champions Comilla Victorians were defeated by the disciples of Khaled Mahmud Sujon.
Dhaka, for winning against Comilla, has announced a reward of 1 million Bangladeshi Taka for the team.
Shoriful Islam’s hat-trick and Mohammad Naim’s commanding half-century guided Dhaka to a brilliant start to their campaign as they defeated defending champions Comilla by five wickets in the opening match in Mirpur’s Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium Friday.
After winning the first match, Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam and others went to the hotel to cut a cake and celebrate.
To inspire the cricketers further, Dhaka's management announced a prize of 1 million taka for the players during the celebration. This reward can serve as additional motivation for the cricketers to perform well in the upcoming matches.
