Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib al Hasan is doubtful for the first few games of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) as the all-rounder is expected to seek eye treatment in London.
A source from the Bangladesh Cricket Board informed Cricfrenzy that Shakib has been having trouble with his retina. This issue has affected his ability to see the ball while batting during practice for several days.
It is believed that he developed retina problems during the World Cup which affected his performance. Shakib himself revealed this during an interview.
Shakib was out of the game for a long time due to a finger injury that he incurred during the World Cup. He was expected to return to the field with BPL but his return may be delayed due to his eye condition.
There is no assurance as to how the rehabilitation process will be and how long it will take to return to batting.
