Sylhet expect Mashrafe's availability from first game

Mashrafe Mortaza is expected to be available for his franchise Sylhet Strikers’s first match in BPL, as reckoned by team manager Nafees Iqbal.
The former captain was absent from cricketing action due to his busy schedule in the national election but the team is optimistic about having him back from the first match.
According to Nafees, Mashrafe will be able to prepare himself before the tournament during the practice sessions on January 17 and 18.
“We are still uncertain, we hope to get him from the first match. We know that he was conducting national elections. Congratulations to him. He works on his fitness. We know about his skills. He can perform if he practices for 2-3 days,” said Nafees to the media.
“Our camp starts from the 16th. We will play a match at PKSP and practice on January 17, and 18. Foreign cricketers will arrive by the 16th. We will play the match on the 19th,”
When he was asked who would be the captain in the upcoming he said, “We have quite a few people in our team who can lead the team. So it is up to the team management to decide,”
The 10th edition of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2024 is set to kick off on January 19 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Mirpur with a high-voltage encounter between the star-studded Comilla Victorians and Durdanto Dhaka.
