The U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2024 is just ten days away, and South Africa is in full swing with preparations to host the world's top young cricketers on January 19.
As the tournament's commencement nears, teams are in the final stages of their preparations, and warm-up fixtures are scheduled to be held across venues in Johannesburg and Pretoria from 13 to 17 January, with spectators welcome to witness every ball live.
Before the main event kicks off on 19 January, each team will play two warm-up fixtures.
Bangladesh will meet Sri Lanka and Australia for their warm-up matches.
Bangladesh U19 captain Mahfuzur Rahman Rabby, who recently led the young Tigers for their first ever Asia Cup trophy, is taking inspiration from that glory to clinch second World title.
“We are very excited. Most players at this age level get one opportunity to participate in a U19 World Cup and we want to make this event a memorable one. We don't have to look far for inspiration. We became Asian champions only last month and four years ago our predecessors won the World Cup,” said Rabby.
“We will go there to win the World Cup. Bangladesh has done that before and there is no reason why we can't carry the momentum from the Asia Cup to South Africa” he added.
The 15th edition of this esteemed event will feature 41 matches held over 24 days of competition.
