Bangladesh have taken a relatively young team to tour New Zealand as Soumya Sarkar is the most senior cricketer in T20 squad and Mushfiqur Rahim was in the ODIs.

But this team is waiting to win the T20 series for the first time on New Zealand’s soil without senior players like Shakib al Hasan-Tamim Iqbal.

However, Towhid Hridoy, who made his international debut for the Bangladesh team this year, said that the lack of Shakib-Tamim is not affecting the team.

“Our elder brothers have contributed a lot for our country. If all went well, some of them would have played here [In New Zealand]. I will not say anything about them. It's a place where everyone won't stay forever. Now we are, it is natural that we will not be here tomorrow.” Towhid said on Saturday.

Towhid is not thinking about who is there and who is not, but trusting in themselves, “Whenever the player comes to play for the national team, try to give the country and take responsibility. We, players go on the field to win. I don't see who is there and who is not. We have that body language to win. We all have faith that we will do well.”

After defeating New Zealand by 5 wickets in the first match of the series, Bangladesh got a chance to secure the series win in the second ODI but the match has been canceled due to rain.

Towhid said that their understanding is good before the last match tomorrow.

“The atmosphere of the team is good. If the team is good, everything goes well, it is natural. The best thing is that everyone is supporting everyone. Every coaches have faith that we can do it. We have been doing well in this format for the past few days” he added.
