Williamson to lead NZ against Bangladesh in T20I series

Kane Williamson, the regular captain for New Zealand in white-ball cricket, will lead the T20 squad against Bangladesh as the Kiwis announced a 13-member squad on Sunday.
After the ongoing ODI series, the three-match series is set to commence at Napier’s McLean Park on December 27th, followed by the final two matches at Tauranga’s Bay Oval on December 29th and 31st,
Among the squad members, Kane Williamson, Jimmy Neesham, and Ben Sears are the only ones who did not participate in the recent T20I series against England earlier this year.
Williamson was absent from that series due to ongoing recovery from knee surgery, while Neesham, initially part of the squad against England, returned to New Zealand early for the birth of his first child.
Sears did not feature in that series, with Lockie Ferguson and Adam Milne taking on the fast-bowling roles.
Devon Conway, a regular T20 opener, was not considered for selection as he continues to undergo a period of rest after a strenuous workload in 2023.
Additionally, Michael Bracewell (Achilles), Lockie Ferguson (Achilles), Matt Henry (hamstring), and Henry Shipley (back) were ruled out due to injuries. Trent Boult opted not to make himself available for selection in this series.
