Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan signed by Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club from Mohammedan Sporting Club for a two-year deal for the upcoming Dhaka Premier League (DPL).
Sheikh Jamal organized 'Victory Day Celebration and Members Night' at Dhanmondi today, Shakib himself announced it at the event.
In this event, he also expressed the hope of becoming a champion in the next two seasons by informing about the contract with Sheikh Jamal.
“What I have to say about Sheikh Jamal is, actually when I used to come to practice in this field at the beginning of my cricket career, around 2003-04, I have been familiar with this field since then. Hopefully we can win the championship for Sheikh Jamal. I will play for them for two years. Our whole team will try,” said Bangladesh captain.
Shakib was with Mohammedan in the last three seasons of DPL. He played for Mohammedan in 2020-21 season. However, Shakib played in the jersey of Legends of Rupganj next season despite having a contract with Mohammedan as the latter failed to reach the Super Six.
After that season, the captain of Bangladesh played in Mohammedan's jersey again. He did not play more than four matches last season.
Shakib has now joined Sheikh Jamal before the start of the new season.
