No Bangladeshi players have been picked for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) as player draft 2024 took place at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had announced the schedule of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) - January 19 to March 1 - on Monday as PSL in Pakistan will be played from mid-February to mid-March, and it's understood that this might be the reason for not picking any Bangladeshi players from the draft.
It also affects the BPL the most, since many franchises rely heavily on Pakistan for their overseas recruits.
Last season, 25 Pakistani cricketers played in the BPL, including top players like Iftikhar Ahmed and Mohammad Rizwan.
21 Tiger cricketers were in the final draft list.
Litton Das, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Mahmudullah Riyad, Mushfiqur Rahim, Tamim Iqbal, and Taskin Ahmed were placed in the diamond category, while Afif Hossain Dhrubo, Mohammad Shoriful Islam, Muktar Ali, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Nasum Ahmed, and Towhid Hridoy were placed in the gold category.
Mohammad Mithun, Mosaddek Hossain Saikat, Nurul Hasan Sohan, Ripon Mondal, Sabbir Rahman Roman, Sheikh Mahedi Hasan, Soumya Sarkar, Ziaur Rahman and Anamul Haque Bijoy were listed in silver category.
