West Indies issue LA 2028 Olympic cricket plea

The Caribbean islands who compete in world cricket tournaments as the West Indies are in danger of missing out entirely on possible qualification for the LA Olympics

Day’s successful spinner, Warrican took two more important wickets of skipper Mominul Haque (26) and Shadman Islam (59). Shadman made a patient half century with six boundaries, due to the umpire's wrong decision the opener had to return to the pavilion though he could have called for a review but didn't. Mominul returned by lofting a catch to John Campbell at midwicket.

After winning the toss Mominul elected to bat first but opener Tamim Iqbal didn’t shine as he got out early by Kemar Roach with 9 runs. Number three Najmul Hossain Shanto (25) was run out unfortunately after a decent partnership of 43 runs with Shadman.

Warrican picked up three wickets, while roach got one for Windies.

Brief Score:

Bangladesh: 242/5 (Shadman 59, Shakib 39*, Mushfiqur 38, Liton 34*, Warrican 3/58, Roach 1/44)
