Bangladesh batsman Soumya Sarker said, due to tight security they had to stay hotel all the time but it didn’t show it as the reason of three-match series ODI whitewash against Sri Lanka.

Rather he said staying together all the time in hotel gave them an ample opportunity to rectify their mistakes.

Security of Sri Lanka has been tight in this series because of a series of horrifying suicide bombings on three churches and four hotels in Colombo on Easter Sunday (April 21) earlier this year claimed the lives of over 250 while another 500 were left wounded. Because of this incident players stayed in the hotel most of the time and talked about the game.

“Everybody tried to give their best, but for some mistakes it didn’t happen for them. We are trying to overcome those mistakes through practice. As i didn't score runs in the first two matches, those who also didn't score, i have seen that they were trying really hard,” he said.

“In practice, even in the room. In this series, we couldn't go out that much so all the time we were together and we talked about the matches. What's happening and how can we comeback from this. And what to do, so we all talked about this most of the times. But its true that we are here because we played poorly altogether. May be all were too much worried about this, I think. Sometimes the result doesn't come because of too much tension.”

But Bangladesh couldn't make a come back in this series as they have been whitewashed by Sri Lanka for the fifth time. And their poor form continues as they now lost their last five matches in the ODI's. Poor performance in all three departments was the reason behind their abysmal defeat. And Sri Lanka took the chance of the poor performance of the Bangladeshi players as they have secured a series win in the ODI's after four years.
