Bangladesh pacer Shafiul Islam claimed a wicket in just his second over to mark his comeback after almost three years donning Bangladesh jersey.

Shafiul opened the bowling today against Sri Lanka and gave just two runs in his first over. His second over was eventful, in the first ball he hit Avishka Fernando's pad, there was a loud appeal. Umpire turned that down.
Debutant captain of Bangladesh Tamim Iqbal took the review but the review was lost as the impact was in the outside leg. In the fifth ball of the over, Shafiul picked up Fernando, caught in the slip region at the hands of Soumya Sarkar.
Shafiul played his previous ODI back in 2016 against England. He wasn't also included at first in the Sri Lanka series. He is included because of the hot and humid weather of Sri Lanka and lack of pacers in the squad. Absence of Mashrafe Bin Mortaza in the squad and poor performance of Taskin Ahmed in the practice gave Shafiul the ticket to play in first ODI.
