Bangladesh national team selection panel hasn't got any indication that Mashrafe Bin Mortaza won't be touring in Sri Lanka to lead the side for a three-match ODI series, slated to begin later this month.
Habibul Bashar Sumon, the member of the selection panel on Friday revealed the fact, saying that he thinks the captain is fit to play the series. Bashar's revelation came in the widespread discussion of Mashrafe's retirement and injury issue with which he played through the World Cup and subsequently came out with his worst outcome in any International tournament.
The lanky paceman has been going through hamstring injury during the Ireland Tri-nation series. But he didn’t take rest then. He won the first Tri-series trophy for Bangladesh leading the Tigers from the front. He played eight matches in the World Cup with injury.

The impact of the injury also hampered his bowling. He took just one wicket in eight matches with a bowling average of 361. At the back end of the tournament, he was also seen bowling with a short run-up.
After the World Cup mission, Mashrafe also said that he is not thinking about the Sri Lanka series right now. But if the version of Bashar is taken into consideration, he is going to Sri Lanka.
“I think he is fit." Bashar, also the former Bangladesh skipper told the reporters on Friday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
"Mashrafe’s fitness is upon himself. I think he will need to give a fitness test. There are few concerns about him because he played the World cup with an injury. He has got some time to recover from that. I am hoping that he will be fit before the Sri Lanka series," he said.
"We haven’t got anything like he won’t be playing,”
The first match of the series will take place on July 26. The second and last match will be played on 26 and 31 July. All matches will be held at Colombo.
