Bangladesh will tour Sri Lanka for a three-match ODI’s series in July as they received security clearance from government high-ups, said BCB official on Monday.

Following the deadly terrorist attack in Sri Lanka on April it seemed that BCB had no intention to tour Sri Lanka as per their plan.

However, after Sri Lanka Cricket promised to provide the highest security for them BCB decided to change their mind and afterward send a security team for inspection.

‘’We are happy with the security plan that they provided for the tour,’’ BCB chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury told reporters  on Monday.

After receiving positive results from our security team we had decided to proceed with the tour Sri Lanka,’’ he said.

Bangladesh team will fly on July 23 for the three-match series that is expected to be played on July 26,28,31 at Colombo.

Bangladesh head coach Steve Rhodes said that he is not sure whether they will get Mashrafe with them but indicated they are prepared for the Sri Lanka

‘’Oh, the Sri Lanka Tour. Yeah, I mean, he's our leader. If he's on that plane to Sri Lanka, fine. If he's decided else different, then fine, we move on. That actually is life. If he's with us, great, let's take that into consideration and win the games in Sri Lanka. If he's not with us, let's move on,’’ he said.

Mashrafe upon his arrival also hinted that he is still undecided about the tour while Mashrafe he chose to remain tightlipped about his retirement issue.

“I haven’t decided yet, I have just arrived,” Mashrafe said after returning to country from Bangladesh’s dismal World Cup outing.

On personal front Mashrafe spent a worst World Cup as he took just one wicket in eight games, which sparked a widespread debate about his place in the team.

Following that performance his retirement issue also came to the fore even though he didn’t give any hint of retiring from the game after World Cup.

Mashrafe who is currently playing just one format of cricket—ODI cricket—just said that it is going to be his last World Cup.

But as his retirement issue came to the fore, he himself created confusion by saying that he would like to continue cricket.

Thereafter several report claimed that Bangladesh’s last match against Pakistan in the World Cup is going to be his last ODI but that didn’t happen as Mashrafe chose to keep cards up his sleeve.
