Former India fast bowler Zaheer Khan was impressed with Bangladesh’s performance in this World Cup.

He said nobody expected Bangladesh to play this well but they are leaving their marks in this World Cup with eye-catching performance.
“ Bangladesh has had a good tournament. Nobody expected Bangladesh to play this well. They are leaving their mark in this World Cup,” Zaheer said in a video message.
The experience in the squad is the main reason behind this performance of the Tigers, Zaheer believes.

Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Shakib Al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah Riad all are experienced campaigners for the Bangladesh team. 
Among them Shakib has been the standout performer in this World Cup. He has crafted his name into the record book of the World Cup. He became the first cricketer with 500 runs and 10 wickets in a World Cup. He has also become the first cricketer with 1000 runs and 30 wickets in the World Cup. Zaheer believes the experience is the reason behind Shakib’s success.

 “This performance is a result of experience cricketer in the squad. Mashrafe is leading the team as a captain. Shakib is playing phenomenal. We have seen the advantage of experienced players in the side. Those who have gone through ups and downs in their career, generally they do well in the end. The greatest example is Bangladesh,” added Zaheer. 

Bangladesh has clinched three victories in this World Cup, against South Africa, West Indies and Afghanistan. They also have given fight against New Zealand, Australia, England, and India. They were well in course for the semifinal spot until India beat them by 28 runs and crushed that dream.
