Recurring knee trouble rules Andre Russell out of World Cup

West Indies hard hitter batsman Andre Russell is ruled out of the World Cup following a recurring knee injury.
He was seen hobbling against Bangladesh while fielding but didn’t go out of the field. He missed the next match against New Zealand.

Carlos Brathwaite played replaced him and struck a sensational hundred that took West Indies agonizingly close.
All-rounder Sunil Ambris was declared as the replacement of Russell for the rest of the tournament as West Indies has three games at the hands against India, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan.
Coming off with an epic IPL season, Andre Russell started well in the World Cup as he bamboozled Pakistani batsmen with short balls, claiming two wickets by giving just four runs. But Russell’s magic soon faded away as he failed to contribute any more noteworthy performance in this World Cup. With bat in hand, Russell was abysmal in this World Cup. He has just scored 36 runs in three innings.
With cherry Russell picked up five wickets in four matches.
Russell’s replacement Ambris is fairly new in the international arena. He just played Six ODI’s thus far. In Ireland tri nation series he scored his career best 147 runs against Ireland.
