Bangladesh will lock horns with Afghanistan on June 24 in a ‘do or die’ match at Southampton. Bangladesh will want to put on field their best possible XI in this important match. Mosaddek Hossain and Mohammad Saifuddin are back from injury so there is a good possibility that Bangladesh may change their playing XI against Afghanistan.
In opening Tamim Iqbal and Soumya Sarker will start the proceedings for Bangladesh. They both are getting starts but they are yet to score big.
In number three number one all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will take the charges. He is the most successful batsman for Bangladesh in this World Cup. He is currently occupying the second spot of top run getter in the World Cup with 425 runs.
Mushfiqur Rahim will play at his favorite number four position. He scored a brilliant century against Australia in a losing cause in the last match.
Liton Kumar Das will play on number fifth position, at sixth position Mahmudullah Riad. In seventh position there is a good possibility of change. Mossadek Hossain may return to the eleven coming back from injury in place of Sabbir Rahman, who’s performance in the last match was pretty ordinary. His fielding and batting against Australia raised some voices in the last match.

Main selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu spoke about Mosaddek’s injury.
“ There is no concern over Mosaddek. He is fully fit. He is totally prepared to play against Afghanistan” said Nannu.
Bangladesh spinner Mehedi Hasan Miraj got hit on the head while giving interview. So, there was a concern about his injury also. But later, it was confirmed that his injury is not that serious. So, he will play today’s match against Afghanistan.
Bangladesh team’s media manger Rabid Imam talked about his inury.
“ Miraj wanted to practice after being taken to the dressing room but he wasn’t given permission. He is in physio observation now. He seems fine. I don’t think we have much to worry about” said Rabid.
In pace bowling department one change may come. Mohammad Saifuddin may come into the eleven in place of Rubel Hossain, if he is fully fit. Rubel’s performance against Australia was very poor. So, he may give way his position to a fully fit Saifuddin. Captain Mashrafee bin Mortaza and Mustafizur Rahman will accompany Saifuddin or Rubel.
