Performing as a team is the key behind Bangladesh’s success, said young spin prodigy Mehidy Hasan Miraj. He said if the team can’t perform as a unit, it is difficult to achieve the goal for a team like Bangladesh.

But the Tiger should come all guns blazing, he added.

“When we win then we perform well as a team. We wouldn’t win any match by doing well in just one department. The matches we have won, we have done well in every department int batting, bowling, and fielding.”

The two matches Bangladesh have lost in this World Cup, fielding has been dreadful. They have missed crucial run out chances and dropped important catches, those things have cost them the match. Miraj also emphasized on the improvement of Bangladesh as a fielding unit.

“Fielding is very important. In fielding, we will try to improve as much as we can because we have a lot of matches ahead.”

Bangladeshi bowlers and fielders suffered a lot against English batsmen in their last match. As English batsmen accumulated a mammoth total of 386-6, Miraj went for plenty in the last match, leaking 67 runs and picked up two wickets.

Bangladesh will take on Sri Lanka in their fourth World Cup match on 11th June. Miraj believes it’s a must win game for Bangladesh to stay alive in the tournament.
