The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) included uncapped Ebadat Hossain for the upcoming Test series against New Zealand as a replaced injured pace bowler Taskin Ahmed, said BCB on Tuesday. The experienced pace bowler Shafiul Islam replaced Taskin Ahmed in the ODIs scheduled to start from February 13.
Ebadat Hossain believed that he can do well in New Zealand. “Actually I was ready for this Tests series. Alhamdulillah, I have got the chance.” The pace bowler thanked Courtney Walsh and said, “he helped me a lot”. “Champaka Ramanayake also helped me for improving my bowling.”
"When I went to New Zealand in 2016, I realized that those wickets favour the bowlers especially the fast bowlers. Now, I have got the chance and I will try to continue consistency,” the uncapped added.
Taskin was in both Tests and ODIs squads, but now has been ruled out of the series due to a lateral ligament injury to his left ankle.

"We have included Shafiul in the ODIs considering his last experience while Ebadat Hossain impressed us with his pace in the recent past,” chief selector Minhajul Abedin told Cricfrenzy. “I hope both of them grabbed this opportunity with both hands,” he added. Minhajul felt sorry for Taskin as a believed he was in a very good rhythm during the BPL.
