Australia are scheduled to tour Bangladesh next month for a white-ball series featuring three ODIs and three T20Is.
Speaking to the media at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Tuesday, Nafees described the series as an important challenge for the hosts.
He acknowledged Australia’s strength but believes Bangladesh can use home conditions to their advantage.
“The upcoming Australia series is obviously very important for us. Australia have announced a very strong squad. We expect the series to be highly competitive. Looking at Bangladesh’s performances over the last year and a half, we hope we can show our dominance at home and get positive results from this series,” Nafees said.
He also emphasized the significance of the ODI leg of the tour, stressing that Bangladesh are capable of putting up a strong fight.
“Especially the ODI series is very important for us. We expect a very good contest. If we can execute our plans properly, I believe Bangladesh can win,” he added.
The upcoming series is expected to provide a major test for Bangladesh against one of world cricket’s strongest sides, with both teams looking to build momentum in the white-ball format.
