Bangladesh’s full home series against Pakistan next year will be staged in two separate parts after a scheduling conflict with the Pakistan Super League (PSL), a Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) official confirmed on Thursday.

“Pakistan series needs to be shifted slightly because of the PSL. It will have to be in two phases -- partly before and partly after,” BCB cricket operations chairman Nazmul Abedeen Fahim told reporters in Mirpur.

Under the ICC’s Future Tour Programme (FTP), Pakistan were originally slated to tour Bangladesh in mid-March for two Tests, three ODIs and three T20Is.

However, the Pakistan Cricket Board’s plan to run the PSL during the same window has forced a rethink of the schedule.

With the ICC T20 World Cup scheduled to end on March 8, Pakistan are expected to play the white-ball segment of the tour immediately after the global event.

The two-Test series, which forms part of the ICC World Test Championship, is likely to be held following the conclusion of the PSL.
