Sri Lanka Cricket has announced that Pakistan will travel to the island nation for a three-match T20I series as part of both teams’ build-up to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, to be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.

The matches will be played in Dambulla on January 7, 9 and 11, giving both sides valuable match practice in conditions similar to those expected during the global showpiece.

Interestingly, the series will take place during the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), where several top players from both Pakistan and Sri Lanka are set to feature this season.

With the tour overlapping the league window, multiple franchises may temporarily lose key names from their squads.

Both teams head into the series after taking part in a tri-nation tournament involving Zimbabwe, a competition Pakistan won by defeating Sri Lanka in the final

T20I Series schedule

First T20I: Wednesday, January 7, Dambulla

Second T20I: Friday, January 9, Dambulla

Third T20I: Sunday, January 11, Dambulla
