Chasing a modest 118, Bangladesh reached 119 for 2 in just 13.4 overs, driven by a fluent half-century from Tanzid Hasan, who anchored the innings with a brilliant 55 off 36 balls featuring four boundaries and three sixes.
He was well supported by Parvez Hossain Emon, who closed out the chase with an unbeaten 29 off 25, striking three sixes to finish the game in style.
Earlier, Ireland, after choosing to bat, were bowled out for 117 in 19.5 overs. Captain Paul Stirling provided the only significant resistance with a brisk 38, while George Dockrell chipped in with 19. But regular wickets prevented any momentum as Bangladesh’s bowlers dominated the innings.
Left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman was the standout, taking 3 for 11, including two key middle-order breakthroughs.
Leg-spinner Rishad Hossain also impressed with 3 for 21, troubling Ireland throughout. Shoriful Islam claimed 2 for 21, and Mahedi Hasan added one wicket in a controlled spell.
Ireland struggled to recover from early strikes and slumped from 73 for 4 to 117 all out, losing their last five wickets for just 24 runs.
Bangladesh made light work of the chase despite losing Saif Hassan (19) and Litton Das (7) early. With the required rate never posing a challenge, Tanzid’s dominance and Emon’s finishing ensured a comfortable win.
