Ireland produced a strong batting performance in the opening T20I against Bangladesh, posting 181 for 4 in their allotted 20 overs.

After being sent in to bat, the visitors showed positive intent throughout the innings, maintaining a steady scoring rate and finishing with a competitive total.

Captain Paul Stirling gave Ireland a brisk start, scoring 21 off 18 balls with four boundaries before falling to Tanzim Hasan Sakib in the fourth over.

His partner Tim Tector continued the momentum with an impressive 32 off just 19 deliveries, hitting six boundaries before being dismissed by Rishad Hossain.

The highlight of the innings came from Harry Tector, who anchored the middle overs with a superb 69 off 45 balls*, striking one four and five towering sixes. His calm yet aggressive approach allowed Ireland to build a strong platform.

Lorcan Tucker added a quick 18 off 14, while Curtis Campher chipped in with an impactful 24 off 17, striking three fours and a six before falling to Sakib.

In the death overs, George Dockrell contributed a lively 12 off 7*, helping Ireland finish strongly with 54 runs coming in the final five overs.

For Bangladesh, the bowling was mixed. Mustafizur Rahman stood out with a tight spell of 0/23, maintaining excellent control. Rishad Hossain (1/34) and Shoriful Islam (1/42) picked up a wicket each, while Sakib was the most successful, claiming 2 for 41 but remained expensive.

Nasum Ahmed had a tough outing, leaking 37 runs without success.
