Bangladesh A’s bowlers dismantled Afghanistan A with disciplined, accurate bowling from the very first over. Ripon Mondol set the tone with a fiery opening spell, removing the top three batters and finishing with exceptional figures of 3 for 10.
Afghanistan A struggled to form partnerships during the innings. Skipper Darwish Rasooli (27 off 28) fought valiantly and remained the only batter to show resistance, while Qais Ahmad contributed a quick 12* down the order. However, regular wickets halted any momentum.
Left-arm spinner Rakibul Hasan was outstanding in the middle overs, scalping 3 for 7, while Meherob supported well with 2 for 14. Afghanistan A eventually folded for 78, failing to bat out their full quota of overs.
Chasing a modest target of 79, Bangladesh A overcame the early loss of both openers, Habibur Rahman Sohan (10) and Jishan Alam (10), to cruise home without further trouble.
Zawad Abrar played positively, scoring 24 off 22 with a combination of clean strokes, while Mahidul Islam Ankon anchored the chase with a composed 27 off 30 balls*. Their unbeaten 55-run partnership ensured Bangladesh reached the target safely with 6.3 overs to spare.
Afghanistan’s only bright spot with the ball was AM Ghazanfar, who bowled brilliantly for 2 for 8 from 4 overs, including a maiden.
