The new format, conceived by sports entrepreneur Gaurav Bahirvani, Executive Chairman of the One One Six Network, is being hailed as the “Fourth Format” of the sport.
Designed to uncover and celebrate the next generation of cricketing greats, Test Twenty promises to bring back the essence of traditional cricket in a single, action-packed day.
Test Twenty will feature two innings of 20 overs per side, maintaining the classical results of win, loss, tie, or draw.
The format aims to retain the strategic nuances of the longest format while delivering a dynamic, broadcast-friendly spectacle for modern audiences.
“This isn’t another league, it’s a living tribute to the spirit of cricket,” said Gaurav Bahirvani. “Test Twenty preserves the game’s legacy while shaping its future.”
The Test Twenty advisory Board features cricket icons AB de Villiers, Sir Clive Lloyd, Matthew Hayden, and Harbhajan Singh, united by a shared belief that cricket must evolve while honouring its roots.
