Defending a modest target of 208, Rishad spun a web around the Caribbean batting lineup, securing Bangladesh a convincing start to the series.
Earlier, Bangladesh recovered from a shaky 8 for 2 to post 207 in 49.4 overs, thanks to composed knocks from Towhid Hridoy (51 off 90) and Mahidul Islam Ankon (46 off 76).
The duo’s 71-run stand for the fourth wicket steadied the innings after early breakthroughs from Jayden Seales and Romario Shepherd.
In reply, West Indies began well through Brandon King (44) and Alick Athanaze (27), adding 51 for the first wicket.
But once Rishad entered the attack, the game turned sharply. His variations and control dismantled the middle order, with five of his six wickets coming in quick succession.
Mustafizur Rahman (2/16) and Mehidy Hasan Miraz (1/16) provided crucial support as West Indies were bundled out for 133 in 39 overs.
The win handed Bangladesh a 1–0 lead in the three-match ODI series and marked Rishad’s emergence as a key weapon in the team’s limited-overs setup.
