Bangladesh’s death-over specialist Mustafizur Rahman didn’t shine much in the decisive match against Afghanistan yesterday, going wicketless and conceding 40 runs in his 4 overs, including 16 in the 18th and 20th overs combined.

Still, with 7 dot balls in that spell, the left-arm pacer climbed to the very top of an elite T20I list.

Mustafiz now holds the record for most dot balls in international T20 cricket—1,142 in 120 innings (43.65%).

He surpassed New Zealand’s Tim Southee (1,138), while Shakib Al Hasan (1,078) sits third. England’s Adil Rashid (988) and Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan (984) complete the top five.

Among the elite, Rashid Khan has the best economy (6.12) and is also the leading wicket-taker with 179 scalps.

Mustafiz stands at 152 wickets with an economy of 7.32. Notably, Taskin Ahmed is just outside the top 10, ranked 11th with 838 dot balls at an impressive 47.74% dot rate.
