Afghanistan have won the toss and elected to bat first against Bangladesh in Sharjah today.

In their last Asia Cup match, Bangladesh were without Tanzid Hasan Tamim. The opener has returned to the XI for the first match against Afghanistan.

Alongside him, Bangladesh have included two spinners, Rishad Hossain and Nasum Ahmed, in the lineup. The pace attack features Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, and Tanzim Hasan Sakib.

Meanwhile, Towhid Hridoy is down with viral fever, absent from the field and missing from the team sheet as well.

Just days after beating Afghanistan in a crucial Asia Cup game and pushing them to the brink of elimination in the process, the Jaker Ali-led Bangladesh will be taking on Rashid Khan and Co in a three-match T20I series.

Playing XI:

Bangladesh: Jaker Ali (c & wk), Tanzid Hasan, Parvez Hossain Emon, Saif Hassan, Nurul Hasan, Shamim Hossain, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Rishad Hossain, Nasum Ahmed, Tanzim Hasan Sakib
