The opening T20I between Bangladesh and the Netherlands at Sylhet International stadium was abandoned due to persistent rain, denying both teams a result after Bangladesh had posted 164 for 4 in 18.2 overs. Bangladesh won the series 2-0.

Opting to bat first, skipper Litton Das led the way with a blistering 73 off 46 balls, striking 6 fours and 4 sixes to anchor the innings.

He found little support early on, with Towhid Hridoy (9) and Saif Hassan (12) falling cheaply, but late fireworks from Jaker Ali (20 off 13)* and Nurul Hasan (22 off 11)* lifted the total to a strong position.

The Dutch bowlers endured a mixed outing. Kyle Klein was the standout, taking 3 for 53 in 4 overs, including the big scalp of Litton. Left-arm spinner Tim Pringle provided control with 1 for 18 from his full quota, while the rest of the attack proved expensive.

At the time of interruption, Bangladesh’s run rate was 8.94, and the innings still had 10 balls remaining.
