Bangladesh skipper Litton Das reached a special milestone in Sylhet on Saturday as his explosive 54 off 26 balls against the Netherlands not only set up an 8-wicket win but also put him level with Shakib Al Hasan for the most half-centuries in T20 internationals by a Bangladeshi batter.

Both Litton and Shakib now have 13 T20I fifties, though Litton achieved the feat in just 109 matches, compared to Shakib’s 129 appearances.

Since making his debut in 2015, Litton has played 108 T20Is, scoring 2,346 runs at an average of 23.00 and a strike rate of 125.92.

His career tally includes 227 fours, 73 sixes, and now 13 fifties with today’s knock further consolidating his role as Bangladesh’s key top-order batter.

The innings also underlined Litton’s form and leadership as Bangladesh went 1–0 up in the three-match series against the Netherlands.
