One of the most notable talking points from the squad announcement is the return of Nurul Hasan Sohan.

Sohan has earned a recall along with Saif Hassan to Bangladesh’s T20 side following a string of impressive performances in domestic and ‘A’ team cricket.

In the last season of the NCL T20, Sohan shone with the bat for Khulna Division. He also made his mark in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) with aggressive batting, scoring heavily for Dhanmondi Sports Club in the March edition of the tournament.

Across 11 matches, he amassed 512 runs, including two centuries and two half-centuries. In the previous DPL season as well, he had piled up 495 runs.

Sohan continued his fine form against the New Zealand ‘A’ team, registering two centuries, and also struck a fifty in a warm-up game ahead of the Sri Lanka tour.

These performances paved the way for his return to the national T20 squad for the first time since the 2022 ICC T20 World Cup in Australia—marking a comeback after almost three years.

The team will once again be led by Litton Das, who has been entrusted with captaincy duties in the T20 setup.

The squad features a blend of youth and experience, with openers Tanzid Hasan and Parvez Hossain Emon joining established names such as Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, and Shoriful Islam in the pace department.

Bangladesh have also kept faith in the exciting spin duo of Rishad Hossain and Nasum Ahmed, alongside the versatile Mahedi Hasan, who provides both spin options and lower-order batting firepower.

Meanwhile, four players have been placed on standby exclusively for the Asia Cup: Soumya Sarkar, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Tanvir Islam, and Hasan Mahmud.

Bangladesh Squad:

Litton Das (Captain), Tanzid Hasan, Parvez Hossain Emon, Saif Hassan, Tawhid Hridoy, Jaker Ali Anik, Shamim Hossain, Nurul Hasan Sohan, Mahedi Hasan, Rishad Hossain, Nasum Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, Mohammad Saifuddin
