Bangladesh ‘A’ suffered defeat against Australia’s club side Perth Scorchers in the Top End T20 Series. After winning the toss and opting to bat, Bangladesh could only manage 123 runs for 9 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

In reply, Perth chased down the target with 5 wickets and 12 balls to spare. Bangladesh will play their next match on Tuesday against Northern Territory Strike.

6 hrs agoBatting first in Darwin, Bangladesh lost opener Naim Sheikh (5) in the second over with the score at 9. Just a run later, Saif (1) also departed. Previous match top-scorer Jisan fell cheaply for 9, while Ankon managed only 6.
Middle-order batter Afif Hossain held firm at one end, but lacked proper support from the other side. Attempts from Mahidul Islam Ankon and Nurul Hasan Sohan to settle in did not materialize into big innings.

Afif remained unbeaten on 42, helping Bangladesh cross the hundred mark before finishing on 123 for 9.

In reply, Perth lost two early wickets with the score at 36. Hasan Mahmud dismissed Holt (1), while Rakibul removed Goodwin for 17. At 47, captain Fanning (3) was trapped lbw by Rakibul.
However, Teague Wyllie (31) steadied the chase before Jewel Curtis guided the side home with an unbeaten 44, supported by Matthew Spruce’s unbeaten 24.
For Bangladesh, Rakibul and Naim picked up two wickets each, while Hasan Mahmud claimed one.
