Jacob Bethell is set to make history as the youngest captain of England’s men’s team in an international match when he leads the side in their three-match T20I series against Ireland this September.

The 21-year-old will step in for regular white-ball skipper Harry Brook, with the series taking place in Dublin from Wednesday, September 17.

Hampshire fast bowler Sonny Baker, 22, who has caught attention with his performances for Manchester Originals in The Hundred, has received his maiden senior England call-up for the tour.

England have also confirmed their squads for the upcoming ODI and T20I series against South Africa, scheduled before the Ireland series.
