This year’s tournament also features the Nepal national team along with four top franchises from Australia’s Big Bash League (BBL).
The Bangladesh side returns to the competition after making its debut in 2024, when they participated as the High Performance (HP) team and finished as runners-up, losing to BBL outfit Adelaide Strikers in the final.
Speaking to the media before departing, Bangladesh A skipper Nurul Hasan Sohan expressed his team’s determination to go one step further this time.
“The goal is simple — to win the trophy,” Sohan said. “From the players to the team management, everyone shares the same ambition. We believe we can do it.”
The team has already made a positive start to the tour, defeating DIXI by 37 runs in a warm-up game.
Following their clash with Pakistan A, Bangladesh A will face the Nepal national team on August 16, Perth Scorchers on August 17, Northern Territory Strike on August 19, Melbourne Stars on August 21, and Adelaide Strikers on August 23. Both semifinals and the final are set for August 24.
Beyond the T20 competition, Bangladesh A will also play a four-day match in Darwin from August 28–31 against South Australia — part of preparations for next year’s Test series, which will be Bangladesh’s first on Australian soil in 20 years.
