In a jaw-dropping opening burst, Starc claimed three wickets as he put Australia on course for victory in the final Test in the Caribbean, taking three wickets in the first over of the West Indies’ chase of 204.
But he wasn't done. By his third over, the left-arm speedster had taken five wickets for just two runs, reducing West Indies to 6 for 12 in just seven overs of sheer mayhem.
Starc's demolition act not only saw him reach the rare milestone of 400 Test wickets — becoming only the fifth Australian to do so — but he also achieved it in his 100th Test, making the feat even more iconic.
His five-wicket haul came in just 15 deliveries, a record-breaking burst that threatened the long-standing record for the lowest team total in Test cricket history — 26 runs by New Zealand in 1955.
The West Indies are also under serious threat of recording their lowest-ever Test total, which currently stands at 43, set back in 2003.
