Bangladesh leg-spinner Rishad Hossain missed training on Tuesday due to illness, team officials have confirmed.

Rishad remained at the team hotel under medical supervision, with team doctors monitoring his condition closely.

His availability for Wednesday’s first ODI against Sri Lanka at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo will be reassessed ahead of the match.

The 21-year-old has been in impressive form recently and was in strong contention for a place in the playing XI—especially with Bangladesh looking to bounce back in the ODI series after a disappointing Test campaign.

Team sources remain optimistic, stating that the illness is not believed to be serious and that there is still a possibility Rishad could feature in the match.
