Three-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders signed him for INR 9.20 crore, making him the most expensive Bangladeshi player in IPL history.

The previous record was INR 6 crore, set in the last edition when Mustafizur was picked by Dubai Capitals. In that season, he played three matches, taking four wickets at an economy rate of 7.91.
Nicknamed “The Fizz,” Mustafizur drew strong interest in the auction, thanks to his extensive IPL experience, having represented four different franchises in past seasons.
As soon as Mustafizur’s name came up, Chennai Super Kings showed immediate interest at the base price. The pacer had represented CSK in the previous season, and the five-time champions were keen to bring him back.
However, KKR led the bidding from the outset, pushing the price higher in a competitive battle with Chennai. Delhi Capitals briefly entered the race, but withdrew once the bid crossed INR 4 crore.
The contest eventually turned into a two-way battle between Kolkata and Chennai, with KKR prevailing to sign the Bangladesh star at a record price. This marks the highest-ever auction value for a Bangladeshi cricketer in IPL history, surpassing all previous records.
Mustafizur is now the fourth Bangladeshi cricketer to play for Kolkata Knight Riders, joining the list that includes Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Shakib Al Hasan and Litton Das.
The left-arm pacer also arrives with vast IPL experience, having previously turned out for Sunrisers Hyderabad, Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings.
