Ahead of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) auction on 30 November, a total of 50 Sri Lankan cricketers have entered their names, including star fast bowler Matheesha Pathirana, despite already securing a contract in the upcoming ILT20.

Pathirana has signed to play in the ILT20, where he has been picked up by the Sharjah Warriors. The franchise confirmed the signing through an announcement on their official Facebook page.

Pathirana has been recruited as a replacement for West Indian pacer Jayden Seales. The team will also feature New Zealand batter Mark Chapman, although it has not yet been confirmed whose replacement he is.

Bangladesh pacer Taskin Ahmed will also represent Sharjah Warriors in the ILT20, meaning Pathirana will share the bowling attack with him.

The upcoming ILT20 season is scheduled to begin on 2nd December.
