Anamul Haque Bijoy, Mosaddek Hossain, Shofiul Islam, Alauddin Babu, Sunzamul Islam, Mizanur Rahman and Nihaduzzaman have been left out of the final Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) auction draft after being flagged in an ongoing corruption probe linked to the tournament.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had earlier indicated that around 10 players placed in the “red-mark zone” would be barred from auction eligibility ahead of Sunday’s event in Dhaka.

Although these cricketers were included in the initial draft, their names were omitted from the final version released on Saturday.

A three-member independent investigation committee has identified suspicions of involvement in fixing at various levels.

The committee was formed after match-fixing controversies escalated during the previous BPL season. In its 900-page report, the committee recommended keeping the implicated players and officials away from the league.

Following this, Alex Marshall was tasked with conducting a more extensive investigation. His report was also expected to reach the BCB last night, reiterating the recommendation to keep the accused individuals out of the upcoming BPL.
