A two-time World Cup winner and one of the game’s finest all-rounders, Watson brings vast international and franchise experience, having scored over 10,000 runs and taken 280 wickets across formats, alongside a stellar IPL career with 145 matches and four centuries.
Post-retirement, Watson has been active in coaching and mentoring roles in various T20 leagues.
Welcoming him, KKR CEO Venky Mysore said Watson’s global experience and deep understanding of the T20 format will greatly benefit the team.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Watson said he was honoured to join “an iconic franchise like KKR” and looked forward to helping the team chase another IPL title.
His addition strengthens KKR’s coaching setup as the franchise gears up for the 2026 season.
