The franchise has signed the right-arm off-spinner directly before the players’ draft, a team source confirmed to Cricfrenzy. Mahedi represented Rangpur Riders in the last edition.
Chattogram has also signed left-arm spinner Tanvir Islam and four overseas players ahead of the draft, Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed, Mirza Tahir Baig, Saad Nasim, and Canada-based Pakistan-origin cricketer Hamza Tariq.
Chattogram’s ownership has changed. After SQ Sports Enterprise failed to clear dues and meet tender conditions, the franchise rights for the next five seasons have gone to Triangle Services Limited.
The franchise has begun building its squad and backroom staff. Mizanur Rahman Babul, who coached Fortune Barishal in the previous two seasons, is expected to take over as head coach.
Elsewhere, Sylhet Titans have signed Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Nasum Ahmed, Rajshahi Warriors are in talks with Tanzid Hasan Tamim and Najmul Hossain Shanto, Rangpur Riders are pushing to sign Mustafizur Rahman, while Dhaka Capitals have already secured Taskin Ahmed and Saif Hassan.
