Franchises are allowed to sign two or three local players before the draft, and Dhaka made the most of this opportunity with direct contracts for Taskin and Saif.
Last season, Dhaka Capitals was owned by Remark Harlan, with Shakib Khan playing a key role in discussions.
The franchise, which also hosted Khan at matches, has retained ownership for the next five seasons. Despite changes in team names, the franchise will continue to compete as Dhaka Capitals this season.
Saif last played for Rangpur Riders and had also represented Fortune Barishal, Dorbanto Dhaka, and Khulna Tigers.
Saif recently returned to the national team during the Netherlands series and impressed in the Asia Cup, earning a spot in both T20 and ODI sides. With strong recent form, Dhaka secured him on a pre-draft contract.
Last season, players like Tanzid Hasan Tamim, Liton Das, Mustafizur Rahman, and Sabbir Rahman represented Dhaka, but the team struggled overall, exiting the group stage under the leadership of Khaled Mahmud Sujon’s side.
