The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has accused S.Q. Sports Enterprise Ltd., owners of the Chittagong Kings franchise, of failing to clear long-standing dues from the 1st (2012) and 2nd (2013) editions of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), as well as additional debts from the 11th edition.

According to a BCB statement, the company breached multiple legal and financial obligations, including unpaid franchise fees, taxes, and payments to players and staff.

Despite repeated reminders and a settlement agreement in September 2024, no payments were made, prompting the BCB to terminate the agreement in July 2025.

The board says the original debt of USD 1.55 million has grown to USD 3.78 million due to accrued interest and currency depreciation. S.Q. Sports is now barred from settling with the earlier agreed amount of BDT 35 million.

BCB also claims the company failed to pay players, coaches, hotels, and vendors during the 11th BPL edition, and has vowed to continue legal action to recover all outstanding dues.
