The decision came during a crucial meeting of the BPL Governing Council held on Sunday, where outstanding payments to both local and overseas players were a central point of discussion.
The council reviewed financial statements and payment records submitted by franchises and decided to reward those that have complied with player payment obligations.
As part of this new revenue-sharing initiative, franchises that qualified for the playoffs will each receive BDT 55 lakh, while the remaining three franchises will receive BDT 45 lakh each. The disbursement is expected to take place ahead of Eid-ul-Adha.
However, the financial support will be contingent upon the verification of player payment acknowledgments.
The BCB emphasized that only those teams that have cleared dues to players listed in the players’ draft will be eligible to receive the allocated funds.
