Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, returning to the side, had a quiet outing in the previous match against Peshawar Zalmi with a golden duck and no wickets.
However, he bounced back by striking early in the Eliminator, dismissing James Vince for just 4 runs in his first over. Surprisingly, captain Shaheen Shah Afridi didn’t bring him back for a second spell.
Lahore chased down Karachi’s 191-run target comfortably, powered by strong performances from Fakhar Zaman (47 off 28), Abdullah Shafique (65 off 35), and Kusal Perera (30 off 20). Bhanuka Rajapaksa sealed the win with a six.
Earlier, Karachi Kings, after winning the toss, made a flying start with Tim Seifert and David Warner, putting up 43 in no time.
But Shaheen removed Seifert for 16, and wickets kept falling regularly. Despite Warner’s 75 off 52 balls, Karachi couldn’t capitalize. Haris Rauf led Lahore’s bowling with 3 wickets, while Shaheen, Zaman, Naim, and Shakib took one apiece.
Lahore now move one step closer to the PSL final, where a win in the next match will take them through to the championship decider on 25 May.
