DC sign Afghanistan’s Atal as Brook’s replacement

Delhi Capitals have signed Afghanistan’s Sediqullah Atal as a replacement for England batter Harry Brook for the remainder of IPL 2025.

Brook pulled out of the tournament citing personal reasons, which may lead to a potential two-season ban under the IPL's updated rules. Atal steps in at his base price of INR 1.25 crore, as officially confirmed by the BCCI.

25 May 25Atal, 23, has never played in the IPL before but brings T20 experience, having played 49 matches with a strike rate of 131.
He was part of the SA20 league as well, representing MI Cape Town in three matches. Notably, he scored 74 off 46 balls as an opener against Pretoria Capitals in one of those games.

Internationally, Atal has represented Afghanistan in nine T20 Internationals, nine One-Day Internationals, and one Test match.
