Shakib listed at second highest base price for The Hundred draft

Shakib Al Hasan
Despite multiple seasons of The Hundred passing by, no Bangladeshi cricketer has yet featured in England’s 100-ball tournament. However, ahead of the upcoming season, 29 Bangladeshi male cricketers have registered for the players' draft. Unlike last year, when Jahanara Alam entered the women’s draft, no Bangladeshi female cricketers have registered this time.

Among the Bangladeshi players, Shakib Al Hasan has set the highest base price of £120,000. The star all-rounder, who has been out of the national setup recently, remains ineligible to play for Bangladesh due to political reasons. Despite serving a bowling ban from his stint with Surrey in English county cricket, tournament organizers have still placed him in the second-highest base price category.

Four more cricketers—Tanzid Hasan Tamim, Nahid Rana, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, and Shoriful Islam—are listed at a base price of £41,500. Speedster Nahid Rana, who caught attention with his pace, has already secured a spot with Peshawar Zalmi in the PSL.
