Rangpur Riders aim to regain momentum ahead of playoffs

Rangpur Riders have been sitting comfortably at the top of the points table, securing a spot in the first qualifier well before the group stage concluded. With their playoff berth confirmed, the team could have focused on wrapping up the group stage without pressure. However, back-to-back losses have raised concerns within the camp.

Head coach Mickey Arthur believes the six-day break after their dominant run of eight wins in eight matches disrupted the team’s momentum. As the playoffs approach, Arthur is determined to bring his team back to their winning rhythm.

Speaking to the media after a practice session in Mirpur on Tuesday, Arthur admitted the losses had taken a toll on the team. He emphasized the importance of regaining momentum before the playoffs.

"I think we’ve lost a bit of our momentum. We played excellent cricket in eight consecutive matches, but the six-day break disrupted our rhythm. If someone can reignite the spark, we’ll be back on track,” Arthur said.

“However, we need to find that spark quickly, before the tournament's main phase begins next week. We just need to get back to winning ways, and we’ll do that by putting on a strong performance tomorrow with the entire team."
With the playoffs looming, Rangpur are eager to shake off their recent setbacks and return to the form that made them early favorites for the title.
