Cumilla Warriors skipper Dawid Malan said that he is ready to lead the side as Warriors regular skipper Dasun Sanaka is all set to leave for Sri Lanka after the Chattogram phase.

‘’Ask the manager, ask the coach .i have no idea .if they ask me to do it I will do it .it all depends on the coach and support staff,’’ said Malan.

We scored around 160 runs in every game but we are just 15 runs short and with the ball, we have had one bad over every single game that just gave the momentum to other teams,’’ he said.

‘’It is just assessing the game and winning that crucial part of the game,’’ he said adding that they will miss Rajapaksa and Dasun who are due to leave after the Chattogram phase.

‘’Yea they have fantastic. They way Rajapakse batted has been magnificent. Before tonight he was the 5 or 6th highest scorer in the tournament,’’ said Malan.

‘’So losing two guys will be massive for us. The replacements that have been coming are very familiar with these conditions and done well here before that will help us win us games,’’ he said.

Malan praised the wicket and added that sometimes batsman needs to give up personal preferences in order to serve the team.

‘’I think it is the hardest wicket I have batted .it is a fantastic wicket .it is constantly good. You can rock up here at any time of the year. I am not complaining about these wickets, none of the batsmen are, the bowlers are complaining the bowler can look forward to going back to Dhaka to next week,’’ said Malan.

‘’My job is to score runs where ever I bat.obviousely I have batted in the top three eighty percent of my career there is a different role bating in the middle order,’’ he said.

‘’My position in the team where ever the team needs s me .that unfortunately that my job is.I have been paid to win games for my teams where ever the team needs me. Sometimes you have to put your personal preference away and find ways to win games for the team,’’ he added.
