Rangpur Division moved to the brink of the National Cricket League (NCL) title after defeating Khulna within three days to reach the top of the table with 31 points.

Their fate then depended on the remaining two matches, Mymensingh vs Rajshahi and Sylhet vs Barishal.

On the final morning, Mymensingh’s hopes ended with a defeat to Rajshahi. Later in the day, Sylhet drew with Barishal, confirming Rangpur as champions of Bangladesh’s premier first-class cricket competition, their first NCL title in three years.

Notably, the team had won the NCL T20 title just a few days earlier.

Rangpur had a slow start, drawing their first three matches and falling behind early in the campaign. They bounced back strongly in the fourth round, beating both Barishal and Rajshahi to re-enter the title race.

Rangpur pacer Mukidul Islam Mugdha finished the tournament as the standout performer, taking 29 wickets in 8 innings, earning him the Player of the Tournament award.
